A storm chaser on Lake Michigan filmed several spectacularly huge waterspouts on Saturday, finding himself near one of the most unusually active patches of the weather phenomenon in years.

The National Weather Service said it tracked a total of nine waterspouts over Lake Michigan on Saturday, but storm chaser Eric Treece told he saw even more that never touched the water’s surface. He caught about five of them on film.
